Working out some teams....

Postby Axe99 » July 30th, 2010, 10:28 am

G'day All,

This isn't the sign-up thread, but rather a thread where we can work out who's in what team, who the 'leader'/'contact' is and the like, rather than have a sign-up thread clogged up with this kind of discussion. So far, we have:

- EAF have a full squad, and may have a few people spare
- SPT are not quite large enough to field a full squad, and would need a couple of extra people in the squad to reliably play in the tourney.
- NZGR are fired up and ready to go
- BTG have a full squad for late-night games, but may need a couple more players to be able to be a bit more flexible with when they play
- VVV have a few players, but not enough for a full squad (how many Nervs?)
- oAs have a few players (maybe 4-6), but not enough for a full squad
- GaS have 2-3 active players
- NGG may well have a squad or two, I'll shoot Lexx a PM now ;).

We could do all sorts of crazy things with the 'pieces' available to us - some options are:

GaS team up with BtG
VVV and half of the oAs crew
SPT and half of the oAs crew

But that's just me riffin' on what's above. What does everyone think? The two things we need are squads of 6-8 players that have a nominated organiser/leader that'll reliably organise matches for around 4-5 weeks (which I'll happily do that for the SPT/??? squad).

The ideas are looking solid but in terms of combinations maybe combine VVV, SPT and oAs as I cant insure the reliability of oAs guys as alot of us have been fairly busy at the moment and not playing as much as usual due to lack of solid multiplayer games.
But really looking forward to getting back on the Battlefield especially with the addition of EAF guys to the picture an more mixing of teams really helps the casual feel of the tournament.

Rightio, I am here. The VVV have a possible 4 players but that is absolute maximum and it is more likely that only 2-3 may be available. I would of suggested the VVV team up with the GaS clan to form a team who had enough numbers then across both Australian and New Zealand time zones but this is also true with the team up between the GaS and BTG clans. To be honest I don't mind if the VVV teams up with either the oAs clan or the GaS as both as I communicate with both almost daily and its really easy to work stuff out with them. It is upto what the GaS clan decides and whoever they wish to team up with and then we will take the other, nice and easy.

I myself although I dislike the game am available between 7pm and 1 am Australian Time through out the week meaning I likely show up whenever to play a match assuring at least one spot always filled if need be, the rest of the VVV's time however varies and thus it would be preferred if they team we are pairing up with has about 2-3 players.

All good, we will most likely to be able to get a dedicated 2 guys on for each match from oAs for a team which could even up the 4 man squad, 2 from each. We could round up others to play if it was needed though it will be more difficult due to lack of interest on their part.

The other possiblities for teams could also be oAs + GaS team up and VVV + BTG team up,
but I could see oAs + GaS becoming an ultimate super mega team of vengence raining terror on all others but just a suggestion :D.

This tournament has my attention now, looking forward to getting back into a tourny in the long gap between good games.

We just need to hear what BtG think, and we can sort I reckon we've got five 'almost' squads:

VVV
GaS
oAs
BtG
SPT

Worst comes to worst, SPT could _probably_ get by on their own, but we might be a bit touch and go, but it sounds like your squads are the ones that need the combinations the most, so I reckon that's the way to go. I can probs organise ring-ins as easily as anyone as well - but if you find any players without a team, send them my way :). Not snobbing you here Outlaw as well, would love to play with you guys, but don't want to leave other players in the cold ;).

So oAs & GaS

and

VVV and BtG?

EAB have some BC2 players running around. However, numbers are not our strongest point in this game. I will ask our crew for interest, if we have enough numbers, we may participate.

Cheers

Nice one Lestatd. You don't need a full squad, if you've only got a couple of players they're welcome to squad up with us (SPT) or another of the crews here :).

I'm sure we'll be fine with teaming up with another clan. We don't get to play with other clans too often, so it should be fun. Will definately need the reinforcements for a weekday game, as us at BTG all have odd quirks that can make playing a game hard at times. I'm sure teaming up will eliminate problems.

Question is, who wants to team up with us? We should be happy whichever way it goes, as long as we can all get along and put up with my constant whinging :P.

lol GTR! Well, SPT are happy to work with you guys again (in the last tourney, RoW was BtG, FD and SPT), and if Alpha's still playing BC2 he'd likely be happy to as well :).

Well, how does this sound....any problems let me know, just suggesting something, so this is all sorted in good time for the tourney :).

GaS & SPT - Axe99 as the main contact
VVV, oAs & BtG - we'll need a main contact here - would you up for this Matt? - and do you think this would be too many in one squad, or about right?

Nice one Saints - and I've played with Straussy in BC2, he's pretty good at it ;). Am waiting to hear from VVV/oAs/BtG whether they think they're too big or not - if they're too big, one of them could team up with Straussy and someone else (possibly some of the crew from EAB).

Well, it should be okay if we're looking at about 3 people from each clan at most. BTG probably only has 4 that will actively want to play, as I don't think Splitter enjoys clan wars. With us:
red - no weekdays
Arathane - Only after 10:30pm
Me - Depends on my weekly schedule, weekends good
ghag - I think it's a similar situation to Arathane, being a WA'er

If the clan/s we join up with fill those gaps, shouldn't be a problem, although if the three clan team all want the likes of weekends, likely not going to work too well.

I think the 3 teams theres would be fine to team up, I think its safe to say they could have a team a week easily and is plenty of back-up players if needed.

I could fill the main contact as i could contact these teams quite easily, especially VVV.
Now all we need is a team name, hmm...

I vote Awesome Sauce.

Also, the BTG site is in my sig if you need to get in contact with us, and you can't reach me. Go to the board titled 'The Pub' (I think that's where the thread is), and find the thread for BC2. Chances are my internet might shit out on me or I simply can't be around when you need me, so direct contact will make things easy.
