PS3 Update in September to Support 3D Blu-Ray Movies

Write e-mail Print PDF
Coming September, to a Playstation 3 in your residence, is an update to further expand the 3D capabilities of the PS3. This update adds to the already enabled capability of 3D games (and updating the HDMI spec to 1.4, required for 3D), by providing support for Blu-Ray movies featuring 3D content. An update for 3D photos is expected later on in the year, and You Tube is expected to support 3D within 12 months.
It is believed that 3D You Tube support is included in this update. On a side note, it has also been reported that You Tube also supports 4K resolution, or 4x 1080p. It is assumed that recording 3D content with a 3D camcorder will not make it 6D, but is more than likely to give you a headache.
